I knew this was coming soon, but I was very happily surprised tonight when I walked into the Constant Spring to find that two new towers with 3 tap lines each were flanking the original twelve existing tap lines. That makes a total of 18 tap lines! Jessica, one of the bar tenders, told me that they have received really positive feedback from all the beer drinkers.

According to owner Jason Oswald, these two new towers will be used to feature beer by brewery or style. The first two features were on tonight. One tower was featuring Three Floyds Brewing Company with Gumball Head (American Wheat, 5.5% ABV, IBUs 28), Arctic Panzer Wolf (imperial IPA, 9.5% ABV, IBUs 100), and Alpha King (American Pale Ale, 6.5% ABV, IBUs 66). The other side was featuring Flat Twelve Bierwerks with their Amber %.8% ABV, IBUs 42.7), Half Cycle IPA (6.0% ABV, IBUs 104), and Glazed Ham Porter (6.3% ABV, IBUs 34.1).

Next up will be two more features. Indiana beers with three yet to be named beers on one side, and three barley wines on the other. The barley wines will include Upland Winter Warmer 2010 (8.5% ABV, IBUs 46.7, Winner of a Silver Award in the 2008 World Beer Cup ‘Old Ale’ Category), Three Floyds Behemoth 2012 (10.5% ABV, IBUs 80), and Left Hand Widdershins (10.0% ABV).

This is a really great addition to the Spring and I look forward to more great thematic drinking. Which leads me to the next announcement.

Thursday, March 8 will be the 3rd Anniversary party for Michiana Beer Nuts at the Constant Spring. We will be featuring 6 beers from Greenbush Brewing Company in addition to the 12 other taps that night. Jill Sites, Greenbush Ambassador of Everything has confirmed that at least a couple folks form the Greenbush team will be on hand that night. So put the date on your calendar and come on down and celebrate 3 great years of Michiana Beer Nuts. I know that we will have Anger on tap, but the other 5 have yet to be determined. Check back in soon and hopefully we will have made some further decisions.
